Who We Are

The Episcopal Lay Preaching Network is led by lay and ordained leaders who believe deeply in both the Church’s call to proclaim the Gospel and in the vital role lay preachers play in that work.

We are rooted in the Episcopal Church, shaped by its theology and liturgical life, and committed to supporting lay preachers with integrity, care, and excellence.

Our Leadership

The Network is guided by a leadership team with experience in preaching, formation, communications, and Episcopal Church life. Together, they steward the mission of the Network and help shape its programs, gatherings, and resources.

About our Partnership with the Episcopal Preaching Foundation

The Episcopal Lay Preaching Network is proud to be formed in partnership with the Episcopal Preaching Foundation, whose long-standing commitment to excellence in preaching and formation has shaped clergy and lay leaders across the Church.

This partnership provides:

  • Institutional support and accountability
  • Shared theological grounding
  • Alignment with broader efforts to strengthen preaching in the Episcopal Church

Through this collaboration, the Network is able to build on a strong foundation while focusing specifically on the unique call, context, and needs of lay preachers.

Our Commitment

We are committed to:

  • Faithful proclamation grounded in Scripture and tradition
  • Supporting lay preachers with care, formation, and community
  • Encouraging healthy and ethical preaching practices
  • Strengthening connections across dioceses and congregations

The Episcopal Lay Preaching Network exists to ensure that lay preachers are not working in isolation, but are supported, equipped, and celebrated as vital ministers of the Church.
